Carolyn has had a lifelong interest in painting and drawing,which she revived when she gave up her career in the fashion industry to raise her family. She trained in Life Drawing at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford, and pursued a further diploma in Drawing and Painting whilst living in London. She works locally, teaching both Art and French, as well as spending time at her easel! She is a member of the Bucks Art Society, the SAA, Berkhamsted Art Society, and the Beechwood Artists group, and sells her work through art galleries, solo and group exhibitions and commissions, both in the UK and internationally.

Today she paints in a variety of media - principally acrylics, but also oils, gouache, watercolour and mixed media. Subjects range from natural forms, flowers, landscapes,seascapes and still life to figures ans portraits including children and animals.

Her style is impressionistic, bold and energetic, sometimes colourful, sometimes muted, reflecting her interest in the light, shapes and movements of the world around her, and her fascination with human gestures and expressions.

She draws inspiration from many sources: her family, garden, everyday objects, coastlines and countryside, and the vivid colours and beautiful light in Southern France and Italy.
