Art has been a lifelong interest. I have studied Drawing and Painting at Amersham and Wycombe College for several years and have also attended local classes in Life Drawing. I now attend a local class which combines both disciplines and have exhibited in local exhibitions.
I enjoy painting in a variety of media including acrylic, oil, watercolour, charcoal and pastel. More recently, I have been experimenting with monoprinting and mixed media collage work using a wide range of found materials both in the content of the artwork and also as tools in producing the work. My interest lies in building up a work from a representational drawn image and processing it through several stages towards a painting, monoprint or collage, allowing the imaginative element to take over during this process. I favour a highly expressionist mode of creation and my aim is to achieve a piece of work which can evoke a feeling or an impression rather than seeking the direct representation of the subject matter.
