FAQ
What is a Guild Certified or Commended Picture Framer?
Guild Certified Framers are awarded an emblem of excellence by the Fine Art Trade Guild, the UK’s recognised trade body for framing.
Certification confirms that a professional picture framer has been examined on both practical and theoretical skills, including conservation standards, materials, and presentation. Advanced qualifications cover specialist areas such as conservation framing and textile framing.
Working with a Guild Certified Framer helps ensure your artwork is framed to current professional standards, with long-term preservation in mind.
How do you access the Art Conservation Service?
Art conservation is offered by appointment and always begins with an assessment.
You can bring your artwork to the studio to discuss its condition with Cath or Dave. If conservation is recommended, Niki will prepare a written assessment outlining options and costs. Conservation assessments are free, with no obligation to proceed.
